Up for bid is a Martin 5-15 acoustic guitar. It was made in 2005. These are great little guitars made in the historic Martin size 5. These are also known as a Terz guitar due to size and the ability to tune up 3 steps. This one is strung with medium gage strings for playing in standard tuning. You need to use lighter strings to play in Terz tuning. Really cool sounding guitar. It has a surprising amount of bass for its size, granted its not going to boom like a D-28! Sounds great for some finger picking and has a cool old blues sound when strummed.
The guitar is in really nice condition. There are a couple of small dings in two places along the edge I noticed. There is also some scratches behind the bridge. I am not sure if they are scratches or not actually. They almost look like grain that was not filled. I tried to get them to show up in the picture but they are really hard to see. A case of the light having to hit them just right. This is finished in satin. The neck is glossy thou.
This guitar comes with its original hard case and the paperwork. Has the hang tag, warranty card and booklet.
Here are the specs:
Solid mahogany or sapele back sides & top, standard 1 11/16" nut, short 21.38" scale, strung with medium gauge strings to play in standard tuning. Chrome enclosed tuners, gold herringbone decal rosette, rosewood fretboard with pearl dot inlays. Wooden hardshell case. Body dimensions are: upper bout ~8 1/8", lower bout ~11 1/4", depth ~3 5/8". Body length 15 3/4", total length ~33 1/2".
I'm pretty sure this one is mahogany. The label says Mahogany top and I can't tell a difference in the back and sides. I also have some unfinished mahogany and the grain is a match.
US bidders only please. If you have fewer than 10 feedback or negative, please email me before bidding. Shipping to the lower 48 will be $25. Thats a guess on my part seeing as how its a small guitar. I will pay the difference if it is more. Insurance will be included for the ending amount. Paypal only per ebay or email me.
If you have any questions please email. I should be able to get back to you in a few hours at most.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
