Guild F 130RCE Natural Acoustic Electric Guitar
Beautiful 1977 Alvarez Yairi DY-77 (herringbone) acoustic guitar made in Japan. This is one of the "lawsuit" Martin D-28 style models made by K. Yairi in the 1970s. Solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides, herringbone around the sound hole and herringbone/maple binding, ebony fretboard, ebony bridge, bone nut and saddle, new ebony/MOP bridge pins and end strap button, original Grover bulls-eye tuners (one replaced), new strings, professionally inspected and set-up. There is zero fretboard wear (no pitting of any kind), and very little wear on the first three frets. This is a very clean guitar with one small repaired top crack that is visible just below the fretboard under the low E-string. My luthier (a certified Martin repair shop) repaired and stabilized the crack. There are only a few very small dings and minor scratches (most are not visible in any of the photographs). There are no buckle marks on the back of the guitar. String height is very comfortable and set to medium-low action, so it can be adjusted to a medium action. The guitar plays in tune all the way up the neck with no buzzing. The guitar does not require a neck set but will at some point in the future as the saddle height is low.
These older Yairi's are consistently great guitars that competed well against Martin guitars made during the same era. This DY-77 is no exception and has the warm, rich tone that one should expect from a vintage acoustic instrument. The guitar plays very well, has correct intonation, and stays in tune. I own a Collings and several Martins and am still amazed by the tonality, balance, and wonderful playability of these 1970s Yairis.
This really is a great acoustic guitar that is set up and ready to play. Comes with the original Alvarez Yairi hard shell case in good condition. There are no broken latches and no broken or peeling plastic areas on the case.
